For the people who have asked if it is me on the painting, yes I use myself as a model for my images, from shots that have been taken while I have been out in nature , connecting and having adventures :-) I felt it was time to depict the Wolf in my painting, to depict the freedom, the wildness. The following explains my inspiration for this painting ....As I sat by a campfire I heard a wolf howling, close enough to know that I was within its territory, it was one of a pack but if I was to portray a wolf in my paintings it would be that one, I know that wolf, by hearing it in the wild I am connected to it. My paintings and photographs of the nude in nature depict this connection, this freedom. When I go to the wild and lonely places and walk naked I feel a spiritual connection to nature. The images are based on reality, my own experiences in my homeland of England and when I lived in the Rocky Mountain Country in America. These experiences have inspired my art, my art is an adventure.

As I sat by a campfire I heard a wolf howling, close enough to know that I was within its territory, It was one of a pack but if I was to portray a wolf in one of my paintings it would be that one, I know that wolf, by hearing it in the wild I am connected to it. I hope everyone is enjoying the Summer-I love all the seasons but Summer is my favourite, I love the Sun!
Feeling so inspired by the light, and also very happy as an artist that I can work more on the self portraits which have always been a big theme of mine, with both paintings and photographs. There are two things which are making it so enjoyable at the moment, one is of course the warm weather the other is that I now have my natural white hair: very exciting to work with! (I stopped using dye on my hair two years ago but didnt want to cut it short , so its been a long time of growing out bad hair days!)
I am also inspired to use colour in my work now, something else that is a big transition for me after spending years working just with black and white for my paintings.
Big changes-in all aspects of my life, art and spiritually, exciting!

The voice of the Dove is the rain song. Out of its mourning, it invokes new waters of life. Its song should remind us that no matter what our life conditions, new waters and new life are still possible. The Earth is a female planet, and this should remind us that creation and new birth is available to all of us upon it. The mourning dove helps us to remember that. Although its song is heard throughout the day, it seems more distinct at dawn and dusk. These are the “Between Times” -a time in which there is a thinning of the veils between the physical and the spiritual, the past and the future. The dove can help you to use these times to see the creation process active within your own life. The song of this totem tells you to mourn what has past, but awaken to the promise of the future. It is a bird of prophecy and can help you to see what you can give birth to in your life.
